Newton Police Department

• Melissa J. Whitehead, 36, homeless, was charged with introduce intoxicants or drugs into institution at 2:45 p.m. Sept. 26 after police arrested her at Hy-Vee on a Polk County warrant. Whitehead was placed under arrest and she told police she didn’t have any contraband. When she was turned over to a jailer, the jailer found three syringes on the inside of Whitehead’s bra. The jailer also found four capsules identified as Hydrochloride and three tablets marked as Hyroxyzine Hydrochrolid inside a small zipper pocket in her purse.

• Randall G. Meyer, 58, homeless, was charged with second-degree theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying weapons at 1:53 p.m. Sept. 25 when he was walking westbound in the 800 block of North Fourth Avenue. Meyer had a warrant for his arrest for second-degree theft. During his arrest, the officer found a glass meth pipe in his right front pocket and a pair of black brass knuckles in his left front pocket. Meyer is facing charges of second-degree theft from a July incident when he allegedly made a deal to sell a comic book collection that turned out to be stolen. The comic books were reported stolen in a burglary July 5. Meyer was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

Tyler A. Frisch, 25, of Grimes, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 7:37 p.m. Sept. 23 during a search of Frisch following an arrest in the 6800 block of Highway 14 South. An officer found a syringe in Frisch’s shorts pocket. He was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
