Newton Police Department
• Dwayne R. Frosch-Machuta, 47, of Newton, was charged with domestic abuse assault and possession of contraband in correctional institution at 11:10 p.m. Nov. 22 after police were called to a residence on North Sixth Avenue East for domestic assault. Frosch-Machuta told police the victim had assaulted him with a knife and a baseball bat. The victim told police he had been drinking heavily and claimed he had assaulted him. Frosch-Machuta then hit her in the left ear causing a cut on the back of her ear, according to the victim. The victim requested a no contact order. Frosch-Machuta was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail where he refused to spit out chewing tobacco. He was told he would be charged with introducing contraband into the jail, and he refused to spit it out.
• Kaise S. Lamb, 35, of Newton, was charged with operating while under the influence, two counts of possession of controlled substance, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia at 7:07 p.m. Nov. 24 after police were flagged down by a motorist at Casey’s in the 1100 block of First Avenue East. A driver of a white Impala told police a female driving a blue sedan ran over a curb going into Classic Car Wash. Police located the woman reaching into the pop machine located on the south side of the car wash that wasn’t plugged in. Lamb appeared to have constricted pupils, droopy eye lids and lethargic speech, and she failed a field sobriety test. A drug evaluation revealed Lamb was under the influence of a controlled substance. During a search of her vehicle, police found drug paraphernalia, morphine and Diazepam. She was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Tony D. Bass, 44, of Newton, was arrested at 11:29 p.m. Nov. 21 at Love’s Truck Stop on a Jasper County warrant for assault. Bass was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Jeremiah L. Lopez, 34, of Newton was arrested at 1:47 a.m. Nov. 22 at 2000 W. 18th St. S. on a Polk County warrant for assault. Lopez was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
