Department

Jody N. Collins, 46, of Newton, was charged with trespassing at 1:40 p.m. Feb. 22 when the reporting party found Collins in their apartment on South Second Avenue. He was previously banned from the property by the landlord. Collins was released and issued a citation to appear in court.

• Lindsay L. Pettyjohn, 27, of Knoxville, was charged with fifth-degree theft at 5 p.m. Feb. 22 when police responded to a call of theft of medication at a residence on North Second Avenue West. Pettyjohn told police she stole 30 pills of Phentermine from a family member, and she had been taking the medication over the course of several weeks. The medication was valued at $40. She was released and issued a citation to appear in court.

• Mawuyrayrassunan Noviho, 27, of Newton, was arrested at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 in the 600 block of First Avenue East on a Jasper County warrant for failure to appear for an initial hearing on a second-degree fraudulent practice charge. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
