Warren W. Clark, 93, of Newton, died Friday, March 2, 2018. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral services but memorials may be left to Iowa River Hospice or Newton Health Care of Newton. His ashes will be buried at the Dunreath Cemetery in Marion County at a later date.
The son of John Thaddeus and Sara Ruth (Coe) Clark, Warren was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Dunreath. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1941. On Oct. 8, 1983, he was united in marriage to Winona J. Tool at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Warren retired from Maytag in 1986.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Winona; his son, John (Kari) Clark of Olathe, Kan.; step-daughters, Wyvonne (Greg) Bell of Newton, Shelly (Randy) Salasberry of Newton; step-daughter-in-law, Loretta Tool of Newton; eight grandchildren, Logan, Teller, Andy, Priya, Holly, Joel, Skyler, Amy and Jared; five great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Bart (Setsuko) Clark of Newton, Wanda (Dwight) Deitrick of Illinois, Betty (Elvyn) Ver Dought of Missouri, Violet (Francis) Neff of Monroe and Shirley Hummel of Newton; sisters-in-law, Liz Clark of Fridley, Minn., and Faye Clark of Pella; as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; step son, Craig Tool; two brothers, Seth Clark and Keith Clark; five sisters, Gayle Goemaat, Doris Clark, Mary Clark, Vernie Wooldridge and Ila Oldham.
