Six area high school basketball players received postseason honors from the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association. The IBCA announced its 2018-19 girls’ all-region teams and boys’ all-substate teams. It also announced the 2019 IBCA Senior All-Star teams.

Lynnville-Sully senior Carson Fisk was selected to play in the 2019 IBCA Senior All-Star games as a member of the Southeast Iowa girls’ squad. Games begin at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, at Dallas Center-Grimes High School in Grimes.

Fisk and Lynnville-Sully teammate sophomore Krystal Van Dyke were named to the IBCA Class 1A Region 4 team. Prairie City-Monroe junior Regan Freland was named to the Class 3A Region 7 team.

Fisk and Freland garnered 2019 all-state honors in 1A and 3A recently by both the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association and the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. All three of the area girls received IGCA district honors.

Fisk and Van Dyke were first-team All-South Iowa Cedar League selections and Freland was a first-team All-Heart of Iowa Conference selection. Lynnville-Sully lost in the 1A Region 4 final and PCM lost in 3A Region 7 semifinal.

Baxter senior Will Clapper was named to the 1A Substate 5 team by the IBCA. Clapper led the Bolts to the 1A district semifinals, losing to Montezuma. He was a first-team All-Iowa Star Conference South Division selection.

Seniors Andrew Van Ryswyk and Reed Worth led the PCM Mustang boys to a 2A district final, losing to Van Meter. The two Mustangs were selected to the 2A Substate 5 team by the IBCA.

Van Ryswyk received 2A all-state honors from the IPSWA. He and Worth were first-team All-HOIC selections.
