SULLY — A back-and-forth South Iowa Cedar League matchup between Lynnville-Sully and North Mahaska resulted in the Hawks' first loss of the season.
L-S evened the match at 2-all with a win in set four, but North Mahaska secured the 25-18, 26-28, 25-20, 15-25, 15-11 win in the fifth set on Monday night.
Seniors Korinne Jansen, Cayler Noun Harder, Krystal Van Dyke and Denali Conover all had double-doubles, but it wasn't enough as L-S dropped to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in SICL play.
North Mahaska is now 4-3 overall and 2-1 in conference matches after a five-set loss to Colfax-Mingo on Tuesday night.
Jansen tallied 15 kills, 25 digs and two aces, Noun Harder finished with 30 assists, 36 digs and three aces and Van Dyke collected 14 kills, 14 digs, five blocks and three assists.
Conover had 12 kills, 27 digs and three aces, senior Jaden Braden chipped in 14 digs and six assists and junior Aliya James finished with 14 digs. Senior Cally Gibbs totaled 10 digs and two blocks.
The Hawks were 94-of-96 in serves, led by Noun Harder's 21-of-21. Conover finished 17-of-17, Jansen was 15-of-15, Brand served 22-of-23 and Gibbs was 13-of-14. Van Dyke also served 6-of-6.
Lynnville-Sully plays Montezuma at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Montezuma.
